EUA – NOVA IORQUE – PARTIDO DEMOCRÁTICO – ELEIÇÕES PRIMÁRIAS PARA A NOMEAÇÃO PARA MAYOR E DEPOIS – CYNTHIA NIXON

Dear Friends,

New York state has found itself at the center of the political universe this year.

This summer, progressives changed the landscape of Albany forever by defeating the Independent Democratic Conference. We came together as a movement to demand that Albany start listening to us, not to Wall Street CEOs — and you better believe they all heard us.

But so long as Republicans remain in control of the state Senate, progressive legislation — to fix our subways, to codify Roe v. Wade, to pass single-payer healthcare, and so much more — will continue to be stymied.

That’s why we must take back the state Senate from Republicans and replace them with a new progressive majority that will fight for the many, not the few.

Will you make a last-minute contribution to help elect a progressive Democratic majority to the New York state Senate? 100% of your contribution will go to five state Senate candidates running in key swing districts that may decide the balance of power in Albany.

Contribute

The stakes for regaining control of the state Senate have never been higher. Now that the IDC is no more, billionaires and corporate super PACs are running scared, and they’re willing to spend millions of dollars to keep Republicans in control.

But victory is within our reach. We only need to flip one seat to take back the New York state Senate. And many more seats than that are winnable if we make sure progressive candidates have the resources to fight back and win.

Can you split a $5 contribution to elect five key state Senate challengers in New York? 100% of every contribution will go directly to the campaigns and help power their get out the vote programs in this final week.

Your contribution will be split between the campaigns of Anna Kaplan on Long Island, Jen Metzger in the Hudson Valley/Catskills, John Mannion in Central NY, James Skoufis in the Hudson Valley, and Andrew Gounardes in Brooklyn. (Or if you’d like, you can adjust the amount each candidate receives when you donate.)

Each of these progressive candidates has been endorsed by the Working Families Party, each is running to flip a Republican-held seat in a critical district that could go either way, and each will vote to end Republican control of the state Senate.

Together, we defeated the IDC. Now a progressive Democratic majority in the state Senate is finally within our reach. Let’s make it happen.

Thank you,

Cynthia Nixon

Dear friends,

It was an incredible honor to serve as a standard-bearer for a movement to make New York as progressive as its people these past few months. I want to thank you again for your support — and to tell you what’s next.

While we didn’t win our primary, the grassroots movement we built together has so much to be proud of and more work to do. We helped power progressive candidates to win primaries across New York. We ended the turncoat Independent Democratic Conference in New York state. And we helped move issues of racial and economic justice to the forefront of the debate — not just in New York, but across the country.

This movement we are building is about so much more than any one candidate or any one election. It is about all of us joining together to fight for a state and a country that works for the many, not just the few.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve all been reminded once again just how high the stakes of that fight are. With Brett Kavanaugh and a right-wing majority now solidified on the Supreme Court, it’s more critical than ever that we do all we can to build a massive progressive wave on November 6th.

That’s why I am joining the Working Families Party’s efforts to help win back Congress and elect progressives up and down the ballot across the country on Election Day — less than four weeks away.

Will you join us? Sign up here to help elect progressives over the next four weeks and let us know how you can get involved.

Add your name

For two decades, the Working Families Party has been at the forefront of the fight for a country that works for all of us.

This year, WFP has already helped recruit, train, and support hundreds of progressive leaders running for office across the country — including champions like Randy “Ironstache” Bryce in Wisconsin, Dana Balter in New York, Jess King in Pennsylvania, Jahana Hayes in Connecticut, and all of the courageous grassroots challengers to the IDC in New York.

If we all come together, on November 6th, we can elect a wave of progressive candidates like these and end Republican control of Congress.

But these candidates can’t rely on huge corporate donors to fund their campaigns. They’re going to need grassroots supporters like you to power them to victory.

Are you in? Sign up here to join me and the Working Families Party to elect progressive candidates across the country.

Everything we fought for in our campaign is on the line this Election Day — and we have less than four weeks to make a difference. I hope you’ll join us.

Thank you for all of your support,

Cynthia Nixon

Cynthia Nixon for Governor

Friend,
While the result last night wasn’t what we had hoped for, I’m not discouraged. I’m inspired. I hope you are too.
We have fundamentally changed the political landscape in this state.
We took on one of the most powerful governors in America. We were outspent more than ten to one.
But we refused to back down. We refused to be quiet. And yesterday, we made our voices heard.
New York State is a more progressive place today than it was six months ago, because of what we did. We forced the Governor to make concrete commitments that will change the lives of people in this state.
This campaign changed expectations about what could and should be possible in New York State. We moved issues of racial and economic justice to the forefront. We shined a light on inequality and turned the media’s attention to forgotten communities across this state.
And we did it all without accepting a dime of corporate money.
This was a grassroots, people-powered campaign. We received more individual donations than any Democratic candidate in the history of New York State, and 97% of our contributions came from small-dollar donors.
We started something here in New York that doesn’t end with this election. We will keep fighting because we still believe in a New York that works for the many, not just the few.
To all the young people. To all the young women. To all the young queer people who reject the gender binary.
You are on the right side of history, and every day, your country is moving in your direction.
We started something here, and it doesn’t end today. I know that, together, we will win this fight.
Thank you all. For everything.
– Cynthia

Friend –

If everyone reading this email knows the answer to 3 questions, we’re going to be in good shape on Election Day tomorrow:

Where are you voting for Cynthia tomorrow?

When are you voting for Cynthia tomorrow?

And why are you voting for Cynthia tomorrow?

Make a Voting Plan right now. We have a link to find your voting location, and we’ll send you your Voting Plan as soon as the polls open on Thursday.

Election Day is tomorrow, friend.

And we need everyone reading this email to know where and when they’re voting — so we can send a reminder of why to each person before they enter the voting booth.

Find out where you’ll be voting. Make a Voting Plan. Get ready to change New York.

Here’s all it takes:

Know your where. Know your when. Tell us your why.

Make your Voting Plan right now, and then make sure that everyone you know makes one too.

One. Day. Left.

Let’s go make some history.

Friend,

I just wanted to send you a note before Election Day tomorrow, and ask one last time for your help.

I’m asking you to invest a moment in democracy. I’m asking you to sign up right now to make calls to voters, both today, and tomorrow.

I’m asking you to make a commitment of your time, for the same reason that I’m running for Governor in the first place:

I love this state. New York is the only place I’ve ever lived, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

But I know that we can do better.

New York State can be a place where every single New Yorker has what we need to thrive.

We can fully fund all of our public schools. We can take on the real estate developers and landlords who are raising rents and forcing people out of their homes. We can make sure that no one suffers because they can’t afford health care. We can build a Green New Deal — one that will get us off fossil fuels completely and provide tens of thousands of new jobs. We can finally pass the DREAM Act in New York. We can end mass incarceration.

Together, we can show the entire country that in the era of Donald Trump, New Yorkers will come together and lead our nation forward.

That’s why I’m running. That’s why I’m doing this.

But to make that a reality, it’s going to require all of us in this campaign talking to voters about the New York we can create if we vote tomorrow.

We want our state back. We want our government to work again. We’re tired of the corruption and dysfunction in Albany, and we’re tired of politicians who campaign as Democrats but govern like Republicans.

If you want that too, then I’m asking you to dedicate a moment of your time, right now, to the final stretch of this campaign. Talk to voters.

1 day left. Let’s go make history.

Cynthia Nixon for Governor

Friend,

This is the moment we have been building toward for months: Our primary election is tomorrow.

We can win, and I have the numbers to prove it:

If Cuomo’s opponent in 2014 had swung just 85,000 more voters, Cuomo would have lost. Since that election, at least 327,198 new individuals have registered with the Democratic Party.

That’s more than enough to win! But we need to reach every single one of those newly registered voters in the next 24 hours. Will you help us?

Chip in $3 right now to help us get our ad in front of as many New Yorkers as possible before the polls open.

New supporters and volunteers have been stepping up to support our movement every single day.

But we need enough money to make sure we can get our message out to as many New Yorkers as possible, especially this critical group of newly registered voters. This is how we win:

Can I count on you to make a $3 donation right away to help us spread our new ad far and wide before people start voting?

I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done to support my campaign. I mean it when I say I could not have done this without such a strong team of grassroots supporters behind me.

All my best

—Cynthia

Friend –

I’m emailing you because I know you want to see Cynthia win this Thursday, September 13th.

But according to our records you haven’t signed up to volunteer with us.

Here’s the good news: you can volunteer with us online by making calls — and that’s where we urgently need help right now.

The single most effective thing you can do to help elect Cynthia — calling voters this Election Week — is something that anyone can jump in and do immediately.

You can make calls for Cynthia from anywhere — and I’m looking for as many of the people reading this as possible to sign up for at least one call shift this week. It’s super-easy: you just sign up, and we take care of making sure you have everything you need to dive in.

Can we count on you to sign up right now?

Over the years, researchers have studied what strategies get people to actually go to the polls and vote. The strategy that beats everything else hands down? Direct person-to-person voter contact.

In other words, when you get on the phone to talk to voters, you are more powerful than TV ads, than mailers, than just about anything. It’s exactly those kinds of volunteer conversations that allowed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to come from 30 points behind to win against an entrenched incumbent.

That all might sound great — but if we don’t hit the number of calls we need, a win isn’t going to happen. That’s where you come in.

You can make calls for Cynthia from anywhere — and I’m really hoping at least 50 people in the next two hours read this email, and sign up for a call shift this week.

Tomorrow and Thursday — the last 2 days of the campaign — we are attempting to call and text more voters than we ever have before. It will be a historic effort.

Make history with us. Sign up for call shifts now.

Thank you for making this campaign a movement. I’ll be listening for your voice on the line.
