Thank you! As a result of your hard work and support, I will again continue representing North Carolina’s Fourth District in Congress.

Tuesday’s results are a direct rebuke of President Trump’s destructive and divisive agenda, as well as the cynical complicity of the congressional Republicans who have failed to hold him accountable. More than anything, Tuesday’s results prove Americans want leaders in Washington who will chart a better, more hopeful future for our country. A future where every American can access affordable housing and quality health care. A future where we invest in our children’s education and our crumbling infrastructure. And a future where the economy works for hardworking families rather than large corporations and the super rich.

I look forward to returning to Washington to help lead the fight against Donald Trump’s dangerous agenda. As your representative, I promise to fight as hard as I know to restore trust and integrity in Washington and deliver progress on the critical issues that matter to all of our people.

We’re less than two weeks away from the most important election in modern history. Early voting is underway in North Carolina and across the country, and we’re already seeing record turnout among Democrats and Republicans.

Donald Trump is doing everything in his power to disenfranchise, distract, and divide in the final stretch of this election. His outright lies and fear-mongering about refugees, voter fraud, and the LGBTQ community are a cynical and dangerous ploy aimed at stoking the Republican base and keeping Democratic voters at home.

That’s why we can’t leave anything to chance. If Democrats are able to take back the House and Senate this November, we will be able to hold Donald Trump and his administration accountable, we can reverse some of his most extreme policies, and we can begin to make critical investments in health care, education, and housing that are crucial to our state.

But we can’t do it without your help. In the final stretch of this election we need every Democrat fired up and ready to do their part to ensure the blue wave.

With less than one week remaining in the 2018 midterm elections, the decision facing North Carolina voters couldn’t be clearer.

In Washington, Donald Trump and his Republican enablers in Congress have pursued a destructive agenda that has divided our nation and diminished our standing in the world. They have tried relentlessly to strip Americans’ health care even as they handed out billions in tax giveaways to the wealthy and corporations. They have targeted immigrants and refugees with inflammatory rhetoric and shameful policies. And they have eroded the foundations of our democracy, from packing our courts with extremist judges to attacking the media and condoning political violence.

Here in North Carolina, we know all too well the consequences of Republican rule. Over the past decade, General Assembly Republicans have short changed our schools and teachers, refused to expand Medicaid, and used their super-majority to consolidate power at every turn. Now, they have cynically put six constitutional amendments on the ballot that would further entrench their power and impose new restrictions on the right to vote.

On November 6, we must check these abuses and chart a better course. Here in North Carolina, we must “nix all six” constitutional amendments, break the Republican super-majority, and elect Democratic judges at all levels–including Anita Earls to the state Supreme Court. Anita has worked for more than 30 years to protect civil rights, fight for working families, and reform our political process, she is poised to become a strong moral and intellectual influence on the Court.

Nationally, we must ensure that the “blue wave” overtakes the Republicans’ firewall of gerrymandering, so that a Democratic Congress can serve as a check to President Trump’s agenda. We are pledged to reform our political process, protect access to healthcare, promote affordable housing and quality education, and ensure better jobs at better wages. I have been doing everything in my power to support Democratic candidates in North Carolina and across the country, and I remain optimistic about our chances.

But with only 5 days remaining before the most consequential election in memory, we can’t leave anything to chance. If Democrats turn out on Election Day, we can finally stem the tide of Republican extremism and resume the fight for the progressive policies that matter to North Carolina families.

If we fall short, the next two years will be far worse than the two we have just endured. We simply cannot afford to sit this one out.

Today’s the day! Early voting is now underway in North Carolina, and thousands of voters are headed to the polls to elect Democrats across our state.

The one-stop early voting period runs through Saturday, November 3rd, and voters can visit any early voting location in their county to cast their ballot. Additionally, if you are not registered to vote, the one-stop early voting period allows voters to register and cast their ballots the same day.

Donald Trump and his Republican cronies in Congress are doing everything they can to discourage, disenfranchise, and suppress the vote. They are counting on Americans giving up hope and staying home from the polls so that they can keep putting special interests ahead of the needs of working families.

So let’s prove them wrong.

Over the next three weeks, I’ll be doing everything in my power to elect Democrats in North Carolina and across the country. But I need your help to ensure that every eligible voter makes it to the polls during early voting or on Election Day this November 6th. I need energized progressives like you to cast your ballots, volunteer, or make a contribution to help get out the vote.

We’re in the home stretch. There are only 26 days until Election Day, and Democrats across the country are counting on your support to create a blue wave this year.

Our success on November 6 begins with conversations at the dinner table, around the water cooler, on our college campuses, and in our places of worship — with engaged voters like you talking to your friends and family about why this election matters. Encourage them to register to vote and offer to drive them to the polls during early voting, which begins October 17th in many precincts.

There’s simply too much at stake to sit this one out. While Donald Trump continues to tear families apart, threaten to strip millions of their health care, and give away massive tax cuts to his billionaire friends, Republicans in Congress have proven themselves unwilling or unable to hold him accountable or to protect our democracy from his unprecedented attacks. It’s time we restore competent leadership in the House and Senate.

In the final weeks of this campaign, I will be running a vigorous campaign in the Fourth District and doing everything in my power to elect Democrats across our state and around the country. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved! I’m counting on your support to get out and register voters, knock on doors, make phone calls, put up yard signs, and make a contribution today.

This is the most important election of our lifetimes, and I won’t sit on the sidelines and let Donald Trump and congressional Republicans destroy everything our country stands for. I’m counting on you to join me in that fight and send a message to the White House this November that Democrats will hold him accountable.
