This is not the first time you’ve heard me talk about Angie Craig attempting to have her cake and eat it too, but this one takes the cake.

But, this is no laughing matter and the facts speak for themselves. It is clear 2018 candidate Craig continues to try and distance herself from 2016 candidate Craig.

Whether she likes it or not, Craig and her employers have been involved in lawsuit after lawsuit alleging the exploitation of seniors, vets, and minorities.

While serving as a Vice President (not merely an employee) at Smith & Nephew, Craig’s company was under investigation for bribery. They ended up paying $22 million in agreements with the SEC & DOJ. The alleged discrimination lawsuits were from when Craig’s tenure as a VP at Smith & Nephew that resulted in Craig’s employer paying more than $3.5 million.

When St. Jude Medical was being sued for defrauding investors, Craig was the Media and Investor contact on press releases and acted as the company representative on a conference call discussing those actions. Doesn’t sound something a mere employee would be asked to do.

Rather than being a candidate with principled stances who can be counted on by the people she is hoping to represent, Craig is a person who adjusts the truth when convenient and today, that means she wants you to believe she was ‘merely an employee.’

Her own website states her corporate career spanned 15 years when she “eventually led a workforce of 16,000 employees as head of Global Human Resources.” She may have ‘led employees’ but she surely wasn’t one of them. And in case you think that was maybe just a mistake, Craig doubles down with her statement of not merely being an employee in a Star Tribune op-ed from just last week where she once again states, “I led a workforce of 16,000 employees as head of Global Human Resources for a major Minnesota health care manufacturer.”

In 2012, while nearly 800 “mere employees” were laid off from St. Jude Medical, “mere employee” Angie Craig was promoted. In 2016, Craig’s entire campaign was about her experience as an executive. In fact, two of her ads from last cycle start out with a voice saying, “the companies I helped lead.” It was Craig’s voice highlighting the fact she was not “merely an employee.”

And as they say, the proof is in the pudding. In 2017 alone, she received$3 million from St. Jude Medical. One would argue a ‘mere employee’ doesn’t make that kind of bank.

So, the questions remain, did Craig lead employees, or was she one of them? Was she lying then or is she lying now?

Either way, it’s crystal clear Angie Craig is willing to say anything to get elected and continues to pretend to be something she’s clearly not.
