EUA – ELEIÇÕES PARA O CONGRESSO (2018) – GEORGIA – 11º DISTRITO – PARTIDO DEMOCRÁTICO – FLYNN BROADY

FLYNN BROADY FOR CONGRESS – CAMPAIGN NEWSLETTER – October 9, 2018

ISSUES

We continue to add more issue positions on the website.  The latest is “Flynn Broady on the Environment.” It won’t be the last. Please keep checking back. I also continue to sign pledges. Who knew there would so many people seeking pledges? I have pledged not to take contributions (over $200) from anyone in the petroleum and allied industries, to hold at least four town halls per year (actually, I have pledged to hold one per month!), and many others.

FINANCES

We are on the home stretch. Donations continue to come in at an accelerated pace, and expenses continue to rise! We are about to start video Facebook ads, and the more funds we have, the more people we can reach. So please continue to donate at our website and suggest that your friends do the same!

ADS AND AWARENESS

We have taped four videos in the past week. One can be seen Sunday, October 14 at 5 p.m., on WSB-TV Channel 2. They are showing statements from all Georgia candidates for federal office at that time. State candidates will be seen at the same time on Sunday, October 28.

The other three videos will be Facebook ads. One is a simple statement from me, one features a supporter and why he is voting for me, and the final one features a soldier who served with me in Iraq – not-to-be missed viewing. Keep an eye out for them and share with your friends.

Our moving 4’x8’ billboard is now cruising the streets of District 11. If you see it, take a picture and post it to our Facebook page with the location! We also have a stationary billboard in Canton and two in Cartersville. Our yard signs are becoming much more visible. If you don’t have one, go to the website and request one. Or two or three. And some for your friends!

ABSENTEE/EARLY VOTING

The absolutely best way to vote is by absentee ballot. No waiting in line, and there is a record of your vote, so you can check that it was received and counted. To request your absentee ballot online without dealing with Brian Kemp, go to www.vote.org/absentee-ballot/georgia/. And then you can volunteer with us to be a poll worker.

FLYNN BROADY FOR CONGRESS – CAMPAIGN NEWSLETTER – Sept. 19, 2018

HAVE YOU VISITED MY WEBSITE LATELY?

We are gradually adding position statements on various issues to the website. In the top navigation header, click on the arrow beside “Issues” to see a listing of the positions posted to date. This week we will add EnvironmentCannabis, and Faith.

Requests for Yard Signs have picked up as the election approaches. It is important for Democrats to show their neighbors and passing traffic that Democrats are alive and well! Encourage your Democratic friends to come to the website and request one or more yard signs.

EVENTS

The “Meet & Greet” in Canton last week was a great support gathering for several candidates. It’s always fun to see old friends and meet new ones. Anyone is welcome to set up a “Meet & Greet.” Call my campaign office at 770-545-6477 for more information.

This Thursday, September 20, Zion Baptist Church is holding a candidate forum featuring more than 30 Democratic and Republican candidates. We aren’t aware of any other forum where you can see and hear that many candidates in the 2018 General Election. It is open to the public and parking is free. The event is at the church, 165 Lemon Street, starting at 6:30 pm.

On Saturday, September 22, we are sponsoring an Interfaith Prayer Brunch, 10 am-Noon, for candidates and supporters. The location is the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive in Kennesaw. Join us for fellowship, singing, prayer, and good food. The event is free and open to the public, but please RSVP at 770-545-6477.

Flynn will be greeting visitors to the North Georgia State Fair at Jim Miller Park in Marietta on the afternoon and evening of September 26-29. We need a few volunteers each day to help him canvas, manage literature and spend time in a booth. We provide tickets, and shifts are 3-6 pm and 6-9 pm. You are welcome to come early or stay later and enjoy the fair. Canvassing with Flynn is always fun, and doing it at the Fair should be especially fun. If you can give us a shift or two, please call the campaign office at 770-545-6477 and let us know.

Dear Supporters,

This Thursday, September 20, a candidate forum will be held at Zion Baptist Church, 165 Lemon Street, Marietta, starting at 6:30 pm.

Both Democratic and Republican candidates are invited and more than 30 accepted.

It is important that we make a strong showing of Flynn supporters, wearing t-shirts, if possible. We have a limited number of t-shirts still available in sizes M and L and will have them there in case someone needs one.

For a good seat, arrive between 6 and 6:15 pm. There is plenty of free parking.  Be there or be square!

FLYNN BROADY FOR CONGRESS – CAMPAIGN NEWSLETTER – Sept. 12, 2018

HAVE YOU VISITED MY WEBSITE LATELY?

We have improved the website at www.flynnbroady.com over the past few weeks and added new information. Read “Why I Am Running,” see the photos we have posted to Instagram, and read my article in “Lawyer Monthly.” We have also added information about my positions on healthcare, education, immigration, and criminal justice reform. More issues will be added in coming weeks. You can also sign up to volunteer, get a yard sign, contact me with comments or questions, donate to the campaign, and link to our social channels.

ENDORSEMENTS

We are honored and excited to announce that the Georgia AFL-CIO has endorsed me for Congress, after an extensive interview. They recognized that I will be an advocate in Congress for the working people of Georgia.

We are also honored to receive the endorsement of the Georgia Democratic Caucus for Veterans and Military Families. One of my most important pledges is to be a strong advocate, as a Congressman, for veterans and military families in all aspects of their lives.

Common Cause has added me to the list of Georgia candidates who are willing to fight for your right to a democratic government. See my answers to their survey questions atdemocracy2018.org/find-your-candidates. My opponent has declined to answer the survey.

EVENTS

Please come out next Saturday, September 15, 6-8 pm, for a “Meet & Greet” event at the East Main Cafe, 210 E. Main, in Canton. I will be there along with State Legislature candidates Rachel Kinsey and Andy Clark. If Canton isn’t convenient for you, watch for announcements of future events in this weekly newsletter.

ARE YOU REGISTERED TO VOTE? ARE YOU SURE?

The State of Georgia has been cancelling voter registrations for a variety of minor reasons or no obvious reason at all. Don’t be deprived of your right to vote when you reach your polling place or forced to file a “provisional ballot.” Go to My Voter Page to check your registration status. It should say “Status: Active” if your voter registration is current.
