Friends, We’ve been busy and wanted to give you some updates! Team Dr. Kyle has been working hard for weeks to turn out Souls to the Polls this weekend!
On Saturday, our team canvassed in Brunswick and New Hanover counties, and we contacted over 2,000 voters to GOTV!
Meanwhile, Dr. Kyle stopped by the Vote 4 Your Life Rally in Wilmington with Senator Dan Blue and future NC Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls. She also attended the Moral Revival in Duplin County with the NAACP. With the tragedy at the Tree of Life synagogue weighing on everyone’s minds, we learned some Hebrew. The Hebrew word “kol” means both voice and vote. It’s the same word that also metaphorically is used in scripture to describe sounds, including thunder. Our prayers, voices, and our votes should be the thunderclap heard in our nation that anti-Semitism, hatred, and senseless violence have no place in this country.
On Sunday, we attended service at Mt. Calvary AME Church in Navassa. After an uplifting service, we headed to the polls for the first ever Sunday of One-Stop Voting in Brunswick County. Our next stop was in Wayne County for the NAACP’s Souls to the Polls event in Goldsboro. We wrapped up the day in Pender County at the Burgaw and Hampstead One-Stop locations where we spoke to more excited first-time Sunday voters.
As our country is reeling again from a national tragedy, we hold those suffering in our hearts and prayers. Friends, This past weekend, we participated in a nationwide Weekend of Action. We had representation in every county in the 7th District and knocked over 3,500 doors!
With Election Day less than a month away – and 2 days until early voting begins – our team will continue to knock doors and dial phones to spread Dr. Kyle’s Rx For Congress!
Our Weekend of Action was a huge success – now we have to restock our campaign literature ahead of these final 3 weeks of the campaign. $100 provides our volunteers enough materials to knock 1,000 doors. We’re also continuing to run our TV ads across the district, so help keep us on air! We have grassroots support and our polling shows that we have a winning message. Friends, We are just 10 days out and it’s time to sink or swim! If you’re tired of NC being the butt of the joke with policies out of the 1950s, we need you to help unseat a career politician. Remember how Rouzer made us a national laughingstock by denying science? The Word from Colbert, “If your science gives you a result you don’t like, pass a law saying the result is illegal…Bravo North Carolina. Not only does Rep. Rouzer deny the scientific reality of climate change, he wants oil rigs off our Coast to recklessly risk our economy. He opposed Medicaid expansion in the State Senate and voted to take away millions of Americans healthcare — even celebrating with Trump in the Rose Garden as they worked to destroy protections for those with pre-existing conditions. He’s done nothing to stop Gen X, and even took money from DuPont to then enable polluters with their efforts to defund and dismantle the EPA. And he’s even come after our seniors — after giving a huge tax break to the wealthiest corporations, he’s gutting Medicare and Social Security benefits that hardworking Americans earned. But the good news is: While he’s treading scared, we’ve found our stroke. During our Weekend of Action, we knocked over 3,500 doors! We’ve released 2 TV ads and we outraised Rep. David Rouzer in the 3rd fundraising quarter of 2018! Please consider making a donation of $10 or more right now, to keep NC and our campaign afloat. We can’t give up now! Friends, The Farm Bill expired on October 1st, and lawmakers haven’t made much progress toward a compromise to replace it. Our already struggling family farmers should not be denied benefits because of the partisan politics of the House Conference Committee, of which Rep. David Rouzer is a member. When it comes to the livelihood of the family farmers in our district, we must put politics aside to do what’s right! Make a donation to put a Doctor In The House who will be On Call for farmers!
Our hardworking farmers are yet again caught in the middle of Washington’s political games. While lawmakers debate the Farm Bill on Capitol Hill, our farmers are also facing tariffs that will cost them millions, and could result in bankruptcy! NC farmers sold over $250 million in pork and tobacco in China just last year. Loss of farm income will have a ripple effect on North Carolina’s entire economy. We need representatives who will speak up when reckless trade policies risk the livelihoods of hardworking North Carolinians. My Rx for Congress includes supporting sensible Agriculture Policies that Revive the American Dream and Reward Hard Work!

Friends, We only have 30 days until the Nov. 6th General Election! With 1 month until Election Day, polling shows us in the lead, elections experts have moved the odds in our favor, and national AND statewide organizations have come on board Team Dr. Kyle! We’re proud to announce the endorsement of 4 incredible groups: the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE), MoveOn, Ob-Gyn PAC, and Great Slate!
At a critical time, we’ve got the momentum, but we have to keep up the pressure. Our diverse coalition of endorsements includes educators, a grassroots network, women’s health physicians, and a group supporting often overlooked rural districts — they’ve all come together to help put a Doctor In The House. In this last push, we cannot forget what’s at stake if we don’t change the face of power representing NC-07. According to Georgetown University and the Lugar Center’s bipartisan index, Congressman Rouzer is ranked 404th in the House of Representatives for his unwillingness to work across the aisle — that’s FAR more extreme than House Freedom Caucus Chair Mark Meadows who’s ranked 318th. That’s not the kind of leadership we deserve for North Carolina.

Dear Friends, Hurricane Florence ravaged both our inland areas and our coast. By now I’m sure many of you have seen and smelled the toxic river sludge dumping into our oceans and forcing people to stay away from our beaches. The satellite images of the dark and dirty water, visible from space off our beloved Atlantic seaboard, were shocking, to say the least.
I’m horrified at the prospect of an oil slick mixed in with the toxic sludge of hog waste, wastewater, and coal ash that we’ve already experienced. But that’s exactly the kind of risk the Trump Administration is taking — they’re working with the Koch brothers and the American Petroleum Institute on a complete rollback of the safety regulations put in place after Deepwater Horizon. This reckless rollback even undoes a requirement for independent inspections to verify basic safety measures and equipment on offshore platforms. This is a risk that I know from personal connection can cost lives — our family lost someone we loved in that catastrophic explosion.
